Gillingham of Sky Bet League One have announced on their official website the signing of Tottenham Hotspur left-back Connor Ogilvie on a season-long loan deal from the Premier League outfit.
The 21-year-old arrives as the Gills’ sixth summer addition and joins the defensive ranks at Priestfield following putting pen-to-paper on a new contract at his parent club.
Ogilvie has spent much of his early career on loan at Stevenage, initially joining them in August 2015 for the campaign prior to joining up with them again last January, racking up a total of 39 League Two appearances.
During his six months at Tottenham Hotspur between his spells in the fourth-tier, Connor Ogilvie was a prominent figure in the club’s reserve squad having featured in 34 outings for Spurs’ under-23 side.
The defender follows the likes of Gabriel Zakuani, Luke O’Neill and Alex Lacey in the back line department at Gillingham this summer as manager Ady Pennock looks set to address his team’s defensive frailties.
