Gillingham have announced the signing of Gavin Hoyte on a short-term deal until January.
24-year-old Hoyte was released by Dagenham & Redbridge at the end of last season after he decided not to renew his contract despite being offered improved terms.
He began his career at Arsenal making just one appearance for the club. He spent time away on loan at Watford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Lincoln City, and AFC Wimbledon before being released by Arsenal in 2012.
Hoyte has made over 100 appearances in his career.
Speaking to Gillingham’s official website manager Peter Taylor said “I’m pleased to have Gavin on board – he has trained with us for a couple of weeks and has a lot of games under his belt.
“After looking at him we have decided to offer him a contract until the middle of January, I am looking forward to working with him.”
