Gillingham defender Sam Muggleton has signed for Conference side Barnet on a free transfer according to BBC Sport.
The 18-year old has left Gillingham to join Barnet following a successful loan spell in which he made six appearances for the club.
The youngster broke into the Gillingham first team this season but only managed to make two appearances – both as cover for injured players – and he was immediately put back into the reserves.
Muggleton has been a strong figure in the club’s reserve and youth team, often picking up praise for his hard work and great performances but now it seems he wants first team football.
His contract was up at the club and he mutually agreed to not have his contract terminated but for a free transfer to be made to Barnet instead following their approach for him.
He is likely to appear for the club next season as they prepare to push for promotion back into the Football League.
