Former Derby County star Giles Barnes has been fairly active on Twitter towards the end of this week, with him hinting that the exit from the Rams that he went through did not reveal all the details that caused it.

Barnes was a clever player with plenty of talent but his exit came about and a fair few fans were disappointed when that news came to pass.

However, in recent exchanges with fans online, there's been the suggestion from Barnes that he never really wanted to leave in the first place - though some have had the idea in their minds that he did want out all along.

On Twitter, he revealed:

Barnes did not go into much more detail than that with his tweets, but did suggest that he might write a longer explanation out in the future, given the interest fans naturally have in his exit.

The Verdict

Barnes was a real talent at Derby and so it was a shock when Rams fans saw him leave the club.

One of the lines peddled is that he wanted to leave Pride Park but that appears to be slightly wide of the mark in truth, and it remains to be seen if Barnes now tells the full story.
