Norwich City are considering a January move for Leeds United defender Cody Drameh, as per a report from TEAMtalk.

There report states that an Elland Road departure seems likely for the full-back, however, there is widespread interest in Drameh, with Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough, and Newcastle United all being credited with an interest, whilst clubs from France, Germany, and Italy have also kept an eye on his situation.

Drameh has appeared just once for the Whites this season, after what was a very productive loan stint at Cardiff City last time out.

The Canaries could lose Max Aarons during January too, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur sharing interest in the 22-year-old.

Three of our writers here at FLW have shared their thoughts regarding Drameh and whether or not Norwich should look to strengthen their interest in the young defender...

Drameh is an exciting prospect and it would be great to see him at the top-end of the Championship but with the situation looking like it is, I do not see Carrow Road being the best destination for his development.

That could all change if Aarons was to depart, then he would expect to see regular football in the second-tier.

Given the amount of interest there is in him, he would not move to a Championship club to be viewed as a second-choice, with a move for Drameh hinging on the immediate future of Aarons.

Possessing an incredibly high ceiling and a real attacking force, it is no surprise to see the Canaries with an interest in the young defender and this will be one to keep a close eye to.

It is quite surprising to see Norwich linked with Drameh.

When you consider that the Canaries currently have a right-back of the quality of Max Aarons, it makes you wonder whether they are preparing for his departure after speculation over his future in recent windows.

Dean Smith also has Sam Byram available to him, but used the former Leeds man at left-back primarily this season due to injuries.

But Byram would be a more than capable replacement at right-back should Aarons leave and it is difficult to see where Drameh's minutes would come from at Carrow Road.

There is no doubt of the 20-year-old's talent, he had a hugely impressive spell at Cardiff last season and the fact that he featured under Marcelo Bielsa in the Premier League for the Whites is a significant endorsement of his ability.

But if Drameh is to continue his development, Norwich is not the destination he should go to.

This feels like it could be Norwich getting their house in order incase Max Aarons finally departs Carrow Road.

Drameh is a young emerging right-back that we know can cut it in the Championship after an impressive stint with Cardiff City last season.

He’s raw and makes mistakes still, which is why he’s not getting the expose he desires at Leeds. Norwich, in the Championship, offer him a more suitable environment.

For me, it’s needed of Aarons goes and probably one of the best signings Norwich could make in the event of losing their talented right-back.
