Charlton attacking midfielder Jonny Williams made his much-anticipated return from injury over the weekend as his side slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat to West Brom in the FA Cup third round.

Kenneth Zohore scored the only goal of the game as Slaven Bilic's side booked their place in the hat for the next round, but Williams' return as a 70th-minute substitute was a major positive that Charlton fans could take away from the game.

The Wales international has been absent since suffering a knee injury during the 3-0 win over Derby back in October - with this forming a part of the Addicks' recent injury crisis - but it appears as though he is now back in contention for Lee Bowyer's side.

Williams has registered five assists in his 13 appearances for the South London outfit this campaign, and he will now be aiming to help the club's survival bid as they aim to turn around a run of form which has seen them win just once in their last 15 games.

The 26-year-old took to Instagram after the match to declare his relief at making his comeback:

Plenty of Charlton supporters responded to Williams' message with many of them welcoming the Welshman back into the first-team fold, while others declared their happiness at seeing the midfielder back in action for the Addicks.
