A number of Derby County have been urging the Rams to dismiss manager Phillip Cocu following the Rams’ 2-0 defeat at home to Barnsley on Saturday which leaves them routed to in the bottom three.

The Rams started the game under real pressure to pick up all three points after a late defeat against Queens Park Rangers meant they had managed to win just one of their opening ten league matches. Cocu’s preparations have not been helped by the Dutchman being required to self isolate.

Against Barnsley, Derby produced a very poor display and looked lacking in confidence at both ends of the pitch. That was not helped by a terrible error from David Marshall who gifted the ball to Connor Chaplin with an awful pass out from the back and the Barnsley striker tapped the ball into the empty net.

The Rams dominated the ball with around 61% possession, but they did little with it to carve out any clear cut chances to get themselves back into the game. Any chance that Cocu’s side had to get anything from the contest was gone after Victor Adeboyejo doubled the Tykes lead with seven minutes remaining.

Unsurprisingly, given Derby’s form at the start of the season plenty of Rams’ supporters have been suggesting that the time has now come for cocu to depart the club.

Here then, we take a look at some of the reactions from Derby fans on social media…
