It’s been a slow start to the summer for Chris Wilder at Sheffield United, with the Blades not as active in the transfer window as they would’ve wanted.

Last season’s impressive return to the Sky Bet Championship has raised expectation levels at Bramall Lane, but so far this summer, a lot of focus has been on moving players out.

The latest is George Long, who has agreed a three-year deal with Hull City.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper made 123 appearances across all competitions for the Blades, but has also spent a fair share of his career out on-loan, with Oxford, Motherwell and AFC Wimbledon all benefitting from his service.

Following the announcement of Long’s permanent departure from Bramall Lane, there was plenty of reaction.

Here is the best of it…

In terms of Long, some feel he has a bright future ahead of him.

However, others are quick to point out that the Blades need to be focusing on incomings at this stage of the summer.
