‘Get yourself signed up next year’ – Plenty of Derby County fans react to player’s social media update following Reading draw

Late goals from Colin Kazim-Richards and Curtis Davies proved to be crucial for Derby County as they rescued a 2-2 away draw against Reading yesterday afternoon.

From 2-0 down in the 85th minute, with Junior Hoilett’s brace setting the Royals on course for a vital three points for their cause, the Rams were camped in the home side’s half during the latter stages of the game and gave themselves hope when goalkeeper Luke Southwood failed to deal with a cross, allowing Kazim-Richards to reduce the deficit in the 86th minute.

And they took just five minutes to grab the equaliser, with Curtis Davies climbing above Tom Holmes to fire a bullet header into the back of the net in front of the Rams’ travelling supporters.

Quiz: Can you name which club Derby County signed these 20 strikers from?

Darren Bent?

Although Wayne Rooney’s men perhaps didn’t deserve to be 2-0 down for the majority of the game, it was the introduction of Kazim-Richards, Festy Ebosele and Ravel Morrison that changed the game, all playing a part in upping their side’s intensity as they started to look like much more of a threat in the final third.

For a side that only had a few attempts on goal prior to their introduction, they needed this boost and these substitutions from Liam Rosenior paid dividends.

Though 35-year-old Kazim-Richards made the most noticeable impact with his consolation goal, Morrison also played his part and the latter took to Twitter after the game to express his gratitude to the away support.

Plenty of Derby supporters delivered their verdict on the 28-year-old in response – and we take a look at what a selection of them have had to say.
