Nathan Jones is reportedly set to be re-appointed as Luton Town manager after leaving the club to take charge at Stoke City nearly a year and a half ago, which has drawn an interesting reaction from many Potters fans.

Jones spent three years at the helm in his first spell with the Hatters, helping them secure promotion from League Two and then climb to second in League One before leaving to join Stoke last January.

His time with the Potters was far less successful, he won just seven times in his 38 games in charge of the club before he was sacked in November 2019 with Stoke one place off the bottom of the Championship.

It appears the Welshman could now be set to return to Kenilworth Road as, according to The Telegraph, Luton are close to appointing Jones for the second time, 16 months after he left the club.

With his replacement, Graeme Jones, at the helm, Luton secured promotion from League One last term but have struggled in their return to the Championship.

The Hatters are 23rd in the table as things stand – six points adrift of safety – and parted ways with Graeme Jones in April having "come to a mutual agreement" over the decision.

With reported optimism over the Championship returning in June, it seems Luton are turning to a familiar face as they look to avoid relegation.

The news has drawn an interesting reaction from Stoke fans, who have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts.
