News has broken this week that Almen Abdi is out of action yet again for Sheffield Wednesday, the latest lay off in a long line of injuries for the midfielder.

Abdi has started just 12 Championship games following his July 2016 transfer from Watford to the Owls but doesn't look likely to add to that after another set back.

With such a poor record, is it time for Jos Luhukay to give up on the 31-year old and move on? Is his time at Hillsborough coming to an end?

It is disappointing that things have just not worked out for the injury-prone midfielder.

He has undoubted talent but his fitness record is poor and if they could find a suitor, it is for the best that he leaves.

It would free up some valuable wage space to bring in another player.

On his day, Almen Abdi is a phenomenal player.

Only problem is, the Owls fans have only seen that side of him on a handful of occasions since he joined the ranks at Sheffield Wednesday.

However, with injury concerns after injury concerns, perhaps it is time that they moved on.

Wednesday can't shed too many players but Abdi just isn't good enough or reliable enough for the club anymore.

If they can at least free up his wages that is a start.

If you are paying the wages of someone who isn’t playing, then there is no point having them. Especially if it over a prolonged period of time.

Get rid and use the money to bring in a player who isn’t so injury prone.
