Things are looking good for Leeds United under Marcelo Bielsa, with the Whites unbeaten in their opening six fixtures of the 2018/19 campaign.

Leeds’ supporters are dreaming of promotion again, with the club’s ambitions changing following Andrea Radrizzani’s full takeover of the club in the summer of 2017.

Radrizzani bought the club from Massimo Cellino, ending the latter’s controversial spell as owner of the Elland Road club.

At the time of Radrizzani’s takeover there was so much positivity around Elland Road, and not just because Cellino was on his way out.

During the 2016/17 campaign Leeds had challenged for the play-offs under Garry Monk, with it looking like the Whites would be competing for a Premier League return for a lot of the season.

Ultimately it wasn’t to be for Leeds, who collapsed during the final eight fixtures of the season and eventually finished seventh.

Monk’s first year at Elland Road was Leeds’ best in the Championship in over 10 years, with Leeds’ supporters seeing a bright future under the ex-Swansea boss.

However, Monk walked away shortly after Radrizzani’s takeover, linking up with Middlesbrough eventually.

Monk wasn’t a success at Boro, and is now with Birmingham City across the Championship, whilst Leeds raced through Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom last year, before getting Bielsa on board over the summer.

Despite that resignation and a year on mediocrity, Radrizzani’s spell as Leeds’ owner is a stark contrast to the reign of Cellino, with things so much more organised at Elland Road.

In our latest FLW Rewind, we look back at when Radrizzani took full control at Elland Road.

The reaction was good, but these supporters certainly weren’t expecting what followed…
