Perched nicely just outside the play-off places, Norwich City boss Daniel Farke will be pleased with the way his new-look side have conducted themselves in the early stages of the Championship campaign, and will hope to push on in the coming weeks as the Canaries establish themselves as promotion candidates.

Four wins and two draws from their past six matches has seen the East Anglian outfit fly up the table, and Farke will look to Saturday’s game at home to Hull City as another in which his side can wrap up the three points.

Minutes have been distributed around the squad at Carrow Road so far this season, with rotation seemingly a practice popular with the German boss in his short tenure as Norwich boss.

There won’t be too many disappointed with their playing time this season in the first team squad, but there could be movement in the U23’s, with several players candidates for a loan move when the January transfer window opens for business.

With that in mind, these two Norwich players who should plead with Farke for a loan move in January...

Remi Matthews

Having just signed a new contract with his boyhood club, young goalkeeper Remi Matthews could be considered for a short loan spell away from Carrow Road, with the promising star extremely unlikely to dislodge current number one Angus Gunn from his starting spot.

The Manchester City loanee has impressed this season, keeping the likes of Northern Ireland goalkeeper Michael McGovern and Matthews out of the side, and the latter should certainly consider a short term switch away from the club.

A spell in League One would do the player the world of good, and he should return to the club as the number two behind McGovern, with Gunn’s loan spell set to expire at the end of the season.

Matthews has wonderful potential to realise, and could do so in the second half of the season with another club.

Savvas Mourgos

Greek midfielder Mourgos linked up with the Canaries academy in the summer having signed a two-year deal with the club from Arsenal, and could be open to a January loan move in his attempt to capture some all important first team minutes.

Having played reserve football his entire career, a switch to League One or Two could be the confidence boost the youngster needs to really kick on, and he could be challenging for a spot in the first team match day squad next year if he impresses at another club.

Teams from the lower levels of the Football League will surely queue up to capture a player with a Premier League academy education, and Norwich can only benefit from allowing the player a temporary move away from the club.

Mourgos has massive potential, and a switch could be the making of the young star.

Norwich are beginning to find real form in the league, and Daniel Farke’s men are beginning to turn into serious promotion candidates.

Youngsters are unlikely to be given too many opportunities whilst the stakes are so high, so switched for Matthews and Mourgos make sense for all parties at this point in time.
