Sheffield Wednesday boss Jos Luhukay looks set to seal his first signing as manager of the club.

One Dutch newspaper, Algemeen Dagblad, reported on Tuesday that the Owls are in talks over a move for Joey Pelupessy, a 24-year-old defensive midfielder who plies his trade Heracles Almelo.

Is this the sort of player that the Owls need? Would this be a good signing for Wednesday?

You’d expect Jos Luhukay to have an expert knowledge of Dutch football and it’s better players so you’ve got to trust him on his one.

With six months left on Pelupessy’s contract, the price should be reasonable too.

I think it could be a good move and Luhukay is bound to want people he can trust around him.

Alfie Burns

Luhukay is clearly getting a clearer idea of Wednesday’s injury troubles, and has highlighted central midfield as an area that needs strengthening.

With the likes of Bannan, Hutchinson and Lee all out, a move for Pelupessy makes sense, as the Dutchman will add bodies to an area Wednesday are lacking.

It will be pleasing for the Hillsborough faithful to see Luhukay moving swiftly to bolster a problem position.

Get it done!

George Dagless

It could be a move that works.

He'll be Luhukay's first signing and the manager will want to show he knows what he is doing with transfers.

The player seems very keen on a move to the Owls so that bodes well and his defensive attributes should help the club tighten things up right now.

Chris Gallagher

It could be a good move from Wednesday.

The defensive midfielder has a good pedigree and there's no doubt it's a problem position for the Owls.

Sam Hutchinson's absence is huge and the Heracles man would step in for him. Credit to Luhukay for identifying what was needed so quickly.
