Cardiff City have made a blistering start to the new Championship season and sit top of the pile five games into the campaign.

Neil Warnock’s men secured a 12th place finish last term and were being tipped by many to have an even better season this time round, and the opening few weeks of the campaign suggest that they may do just that.

The Bluebirds have got past Burton Albion, Aston Villa, Sheffield United, Wolves, and Queens Park Rangers to remain the only side in the division with a 100% record, which gives them a three-point lead at the top over Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich Town.

The South Wales outfit have made some shrewd signings over the summer, most notably that of Lee Tomlin and Danny Ward, and there could be another addition in the form of former midfielder Joe Ledley.

The 30-year-old left Crystal Palace at the expiration of his contract earlier this summer to bring the curtain down on a three-year stint at the London-based club, in which time he played 97 games and scored six goals.

And recent reports suggest that he could be making a return to the Cardiff City Stadium, seven years after leaving the club for Celtic, and news of a possible reunion with the Wales international has stimulated quite a reaction from Bluebirds supporters on Twitter.

And it’s fair to say that many would be delighted to see Ledley return to the club…
