According to Football Insider, Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer is closing in on a permanent move to Bristol City, with the 22-year-old set to undergo a medical at Ashton Gate.

The attacking midfielder is no stranger to those at Ashton Gate, after spending the second half of last season on loan with the Robins following an underwhelming loan spell with Blackburn in the first half of the campaign.

The 22-year-old scored twice and made a total of 17 appearances for Lee Johnson's side, and now looks set to complete a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge.

Since coming through the ranks at the London club, Palmer hasn't made a single first-team appearances for the Blues, but he is now set to undergo a medical at Ashton Gate today.

The Robins have been very busy in the transfer market this summer, with Lee Johnson identifying that a new striker is on the club's radar ahead of their clash with Leeds United this weekend.

Here, though, we look at Bristol City fans' reactions to this somewhat surprising news...
