League Two Carlisle United have further strengthened their attacking options, after announcing the signing of Newcastle United forward Elias Sorensen on a season-long loan deal.

Sorensen, who joined Newcastle from HB Koge in the summer of 2016, has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Magpies, but did finish as joint top scorer in the Premier League 2 for Under 23s teams last season, with 12 goals in 17 appearances.

The striker, who also made one appearance for League One Blackpool during a loan spell at Bloomfield Road last season, will not spend the rest of the current campaign at Brunton Park, as Carlisle look to build on their 11th place finish in League Two last year.

Championship Picks

So far in the current campaign, Steven Pressley’s side have won one and lost one league game, while also shocking Championship side Barnsley with a 3-0 win at Oakwell in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

Following confirmation of Sorensen’s arrival, Carlisle have now completed 13 new signings in the summer transfer window.

Taking to Twitter to react to the confirmation of Sorensen’s move to the club, a number of Carlisle fans appeared delighted with their side’s latest piece of business.

Here, we take a look at what some of them had to say.
