‘Get in’, ‘Bad decision’ – Plenty of Sheffield Wednesday fans are divided as 31-y/o arrives at Hillsborough

Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Sam Hutchinson, who arrives on a free transfer.
Hutchinson will be in familiar surroundings at Hillsborough, with the 31-year-old making 154 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday earlier in his career.
He only departed the club in the summer of 2020, when his contract reached a conclusion. Hutchinson then went on to sign for Cypriot side Pafos, but his spell there was a brief one, as he had his contract mutually terminated with the club in December 2020.
Hutchinson will be eager to make an instant impact with the Owls, with Sheffield Wednesday battling to stay in the Championship this term.
They’re currently sat 23rd in the second-tier standings, and are six points adrift of safety, which will make for concerning reading for the club’s supporters.
Plenty of Sheffield Wednesday fans took to social media to react to the news of Hutchinson re-signing for the club.
Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below….

Really bad decision, living in the past signing, injured frequently, won’t be on a small wage and wasn’t good enough 2 seasons ago let alone now.

It’s gonna have to work out otherwise it will be toxic. Another DC signing no manager will ever want the job and rightly so

Always happy to see a good player come back…but normally for the halftime draw. Really in 2 minds on this one. If contract is good with major incentives for games played thats good, would like him to be a CB too not CM. Just hope the next boss likes him. #swfc

This will either be the signing of the season or a total car crash.
