On the field, Charlton Athletic have started the 2018/19 League One campaign somewhat disappointingly, having picked up four points from their first four matches.

But, it is the action off the pitch that have been grabbing the headlines at The Valley.

Addicks owner Roland Duchatelet has been reportedly looking to cut costs across all sectors of the club all summer, in an attempt to claw back losses before a potential sale.

Duchatelet, who is the owner of multiple football clubs across Europe, has looked to save money any way he can throughout preseason, and a result, Lee Bowyer’s side have struggled to perform on the pitch.

Protests against the Addicks owner have been rife, and with the club's season ticket sales at an estimated 5,000, less than half of the figure before Duchatelet bought the club, the view of the Charlton Athletic faithful is clear.

We discuss whether it is time for Duchatelet to sell up and move on at Charlton...

Christian Fuller

Get him out now.

It is beyond embarrassing how the owners are treating Charlton at all levels of the club.

Bowyer is a strong man to hold out as manager of the Addicks whilst Duchatelet is overseeing proceedings, but could massively struggle for results this season as a result.

Alfie Burns

It’s something that the club have needed for a while now.

Lee Bowyer did a fantastic job last season, and this year, he should oversee a reasonable campaign.

However, you get the feeling that whilst off the field problems haunt Charlton, they will never make any serious improvement on the field.

Louie Chandler

Absolutely and it has been for a while.

Charlton could very easily be a Premier League club within the next five years with owners who had their best interests at heart.

At the moment the potential of the club is fighting a losing battle with the owners.
