It's been a 2020 to forget so far for Sheffield Wednesday, as they continue to struggle in the Championship after a poor run of results.

The Owls had previously occupied a place in the play-offs, but after a lack of investment during the January transfer window, plenty of the club's supporters will hold their chairman Dejphon Chansiri partly responsible for their slump in form.

Garry Monk's side are currently sat 15th in the Championship table, and have only won twice in their last 12 matches in all competitions.

Speaking in an interview with Yorkshire Live, Chansiri revealed who Amadeu Paixao is, and labelled him as a 'valuable resource' to turn to when needed.

"He is my personal adviser and part of our recruitment committee. He is a valuable resource for myself and our club has been in football for a long time, 25 years, and has a lot of experience and many, many contacts."

Chansiri went on to reveal why he hasn't changed the club's recruitment team in recent seasons, as the Owls struggle to win promotion back into the top-flight.

"The recruitment team has expanded and evolved over the five years I have been here. We have the foundations in place but you must always build. And of course that team will change based on the decisions and identity of the manager. Every manager will have different contacts, different opinions and ultimately different players he wishes to recruit.

"Our team is there to support, it will constantly evolve but will always be there to help the manager, who as I say makes the final decision on who he wishes to bring into the team or the squad."
