Barnsley have recently announced that they have parted company with Daniel Stendel after a poor run of form saw the Tykes slip into the relegation zone in the Championship.

The Yorkshire-based side hadn't won since the opening day of the season, where they beat newly-relegated Fulham on the opening day of the season at Oakwell.

Barnsley's promotion from League One last season will seem like a distant memory for a number of the club's supporters, after Stendel guided them into the Championship in his first year in English football.

One of the teams that the Tykes beat to promotion in League One was Sunderland, who were beaten by Charlton Athletic in the Play-Off Final at Wembley.

The Black Cats haven't started the season as strongly as they would have liked to, which has led to Jack Ross being sacked earlier today.

Plenty of Sunderland supporters took to social media to issue their thoughts on Stendel's departure from Barnsley, and are keen to see him suceed Ross in charge of their side.
