‘Get him in the first-team’, ‘Class’ – Plenty of Sunderland fans are impressed with forward’s recent display

Sunderland’s Under-23s side picked up a morale-boosting 5-3 win over Fulham on Monday afternoon at the Academy of Light.

The Black Cats haven’t had much to cheer about in their youth teams recently, so it will be pleasing to see for the club’s supporters that they’ve picked up a win.

One player that played a starring role in the win for Sunderland’s Under-23s was Benjamin Kimpioka, with the forward scoring twice on the day.

Kimpioka re-signed for Sunderland not so long ago, with the forward previously being a free-agent, after leaving the club at the end of the 2019/20 season.

The striker made five first-team appearances for Sunderland last term, and will be eager to force his way into Phil Parkinson’s side at the earliest of opportunities.

Sunderland are currently sat sixth in the League One table after their opening seven matches of this year’s campaign.

Plenty of the Stadium of Light faithful took to social media to react to Kimpioka’s latest display, with many calling for him to start in the first-team in the near future.

Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below….
