Derby County supporters have been reacting to the news of a late takeover bid from former Newcastle United owner, Mike Ashley.

News broke on Friday evening of a £50m offer from the billionaire to buy Derby County.

The Telegraph reported that Ashley was 'preparing the largest bid so far' for Derby's administrators Quantuma after advanced talks between the two parties in the last 48 hours.

The Telegraph also reported that Ashley is attempting to buy Pride Park should the takeover prove successful. This is currently under the ownership of the outgoing Mel Morris and would be a significant step in the takeover process.

This news comes after a consortium led by former Derby owner Andy Appleby also made it clear that they were 'ready to take over' the club earlier this week.

It's been a long few months for Derby supporters after entering administration with this news looking like a conclusion could be drawing near.

The news didn’t take long to reach the Derby County supporters, with many taking to social media to air their views on what is sure to have been a surprising revelation.
