Robert Huth is still on the lookout for a new club, with the experienced centre-back without an employer since leaving Leicester City at the end of last season.

The 34-year-old has a wealth of experience, having played the majority of his career in the Premier League.

Since starting out at Chelsea in 2002, Huth has gone on to make 326 league appearances in England, as well as featuring on 80 occasions across various other competitions.

Middlesbrough, Stoke and Leicester were Huth’s destinations after Chelsea, with the centre-back currently boasting three Premier League medals.

In a recent interview, Huth told Goals on Sunday that he would be open to a move to Leeds United, describing Elland Road as “perfect.”

Here at FLW, we take a look at FOUR reasons why Leeds should grant Huth his wish and offer him an opportunity to sign for the club…

Leeds’ squad is flying at the moment in the Championship, but there are testing periods on the horizon for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Huth’s experience could be vital both on and off the pitch for the Whites.

Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper remain Leeds’ only recognised centre-backs, although Gaetano Berardi has filled in well when he’s been asked.

Over the course of the season, not adding another body is a risk for Bielsa.

Huth’s addition would take away that risk.

Leeds aren’t blessed with great height in their side, which could catch them out against more physical sides.

Huth stands at well over 6ft and would add a lot at both ends of the field for Leeds.

Huth is clearly fishing for a contract at Elland Road, but he does sound like he wants to play for Leeds.

That desire could be a valuable trait to bring on board.

Leeds wouldn’t just be signing a free agent for the sake of it, they’d be bringing someone in that wants to push himself and work under Bielsa.
