Nottingham Forest boss Martin O'Neill has admitted that his side's 1-1 stalemate against Ipswich Town at the weekend was a "fair result".

The Reds were unable to pick up from where they left off after easing past Hull City by three goals to nil last week, but were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw against the division's bottom side on Saturday.

Collin Quaner opened the scoring for the hosts early on, before an own-goal from Jon Nolan put Forest back on level terms. O'Neill's men felt that they probably left Suffolk with all three points too, as Daryl Murphy was wrongly adjudged to have been offside, when he converted from close range.

But despite the weekend's controversial incident, O'Neill insisted that the draw was a fair result, with the Reds sitting in 11th place in the Sky Bet Championship table.

He said: "Of course it was an important moment in the game and it looked a fairly straightforward decision to get right but in the second half we didn't create enough to win the game and you have to give credit to Ipswich because they did play well.

"We're trying to get into the play-offs so we knew we had to gamble in the second half by throwing players forward and we did leave ourselves wide open as we chased the game.

"We went for the three points and, of course, but in the end I think 1-1 is a fair result."

Inconsistency has been a major issue for Forest this season - the Reds have achieved back-to-back league wins only once all season, which has ultimately put their hopes of a play-off finish in real jeopardy.

The pressure really is on O'Neill to perform after replacing Aitor Karanka at the halfway stage of the campaign, but in light of his post-match comments, we take a look at Forest fans' reactions to the draw at Portman Road...
