Many Charlton Athletic fans have taken to social media to air their views on Jonny Williams, after the midfielder’s release by Cardiff City was announced by the club earlier today via their official website.

The 27-year-old previously spent three seasons at the Valley as he took in 66 games for the Addicks, playing a vital role in helping the club to achieve a promotion to the Championship under their then manager Lee Bowyer.

Fast forward to present day and Williams has just been let go by Cardiff, the club who signed the Welsh international from Charlton back in February of this year.

The news comes after the former Sunderland and Crystal Palace man made just nine appearances for Mick McCarthy’s side, with only one of those being in the starting eleven.

Now, the Charlton faithful have taken to social media to speak about the player’s situation, with many calling for the club to re-sign the player on Twitter.

Can you name the Charlton Athletic player who has been carded the most in each of the last 16 seasons?
