Duncan Watmore continued his strong start to his Middlesbrough career as his first two goals for the club helped them claim a 2-1 win against Swansea City last night and many Sunderland fans have been quick to respond.

Having been released by the Black Cats in the summer, Watmore was picked up as a free agent by Boro and made just his second start for the club last night.

The 26-year-old showed the qualities that can make him a difficult player for opposing defences to handle as he raced through and put a deflected strike past Freddie Woodman in the first half.

Watmore doubled the deficit after the break again using his pace to give himself a shooting chance and this time firing a clean effort into the bottom corner.

The Swans grabbed a goal back through Yan Dhanda but were unable to avoid defeat, handing Neil Warnock's men a second win in their last three games.

A product of the Black Cats academy system, Watmore made 87 appearances for the club and represented them in the top three tiers of English football.
