Both Chris Wood and Dwight Gayle have been nominated for the end of season Player of the Year award, alongside Brighton and Hove Albion’s Anthony Knockaert, leading to much debate on social media as opinion remains divided on who is the better striker.

Wood is currently leading the Championship’s goalscoring charts, having bagged 24 league goals, helping Leeds United to fourth in the table and challenging for a top-flight return for the first time since 2004.

Newcastle United’s Gayle has scored 21 league goals, despite struggling with injuries, lifting Rafa Benitez’s side to the top of the Championship table.

While both strikers have guided their respective clubs into promotion contention, it remains to be seen if they have the stamina to help secure top-flight football, with eight fixtures of the season remaining.

Bet 365 are running a poll on Twitter to see who fans think is more deserving of the end of season award, Wood or Gayle.
