Sabri Lamouchi is expected to be a busy man in the January transfer window, as he looks to add fresh faces to his Nottingham Forest squad.

The Reds sit just three points off the Sky Bet Championship automatic promotion places, with a game in hand on the teams above them.

Nevertheless, further additions will be required in January if Forest are to keep on fighting it out for a place in the top two, after making a hugely impressive start to the season.

Plenty of names have already been linked with a move to the City Ground, with the Nottingham Post recently posting a list that shows all the names that have been mentioned.

Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle is one of those names - the 29-year-old scored 24 goals for West Brom last term, and is a proven goalscorer at Championship level.

Having let go of the likes of Hillal Soudani, Jason Cummings and Daryl Murphy in the summer, a new centre-forward should definitely be on Lamouchi's radar, with Lewis Grabban and Rafa Mir currently the club's only out-and-out striking options.

Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour has also been linked with a move to the East Midlands, with the young attacking midfielder impressing in the Carabao Cup for Frank Lampard's side this term.

Forest have an ilk of talent in the middle of the park, but the Championship is a long, hard season, and they will need all the depth they can get.

Here, then, we take a look at what Forest fans have been saying in a Facebook forum, discussing their club's potential transfer business...

Gary Davis: "Gayle and gilmour will do."

Josh Fussey: "Shankland and Gayle."

John Lees: "Don’t think we need anyone other than a striker, been a while since we’ve been able to say that."

Ross Hornbuckle: "I’ll take Gayle and Clarke."

Allan Grainger: "Watched billy gilmour playing for chelsea 21s last month looks quality."

Scott Marley: "Pickard I'd take gayle and clarke any day!"

Adam Mills: "Not one impressed me compared to our current squad to be fair."
