Birmingham boss Gary Rowett has made an incredible impact since he joined the Blues from Burton Albion in October 2014.

He has transformed Birmingham from a relegation threatened side into Play-Off hopefuls in two seasons.

The quality of the squad has also improved drastically, and Rowett has brought in some shrewd additions as well as bringing through some talented young players such as Demarai Gray, who would later move on to Premier League champions Leicester City, and also exciting winger Viv Solomon-Otabor, who is currently wowing fans with some excellent performances.

However, with the side currently up there in the top 6, Rowett wont be messing with his winning formula anytime soon, and opportunities for youngsters will be limited over the next few months.

The best option from here is to send these players out on loan, where they can get valuable first team experience.

Here are TWO Birmingham players Gary Rowett should loan out come January.....

Jack Storer

The 18-year-old striker is highly rated at St.Andrews, with Rowett describing him as ‘the most natural 18-year-old finisher I have ever seen', but after getting himself sent off after just 7 minutes on his debut against Wolves, it is clear to see that the youngster is still raw, and a spell out on loan could do him the world of good.

A short loan spell from January onwards would arm Storer with the first team experience needed to replace the ageing Clayton Donaldson.

Josh Cogley

Cogley garnered lots of attention coming through the youth ranks at Birmingham, after being snapped up as a 15-year-old, and after being given a squad number this season it looks like he might be about to fulfil some of his potential.

However, first team chances have been limited, and the 20-year-old full back has made just a single appearance, coming on in the EFL Cup for his senior debut.

A loan spell out at a League 1 or 2 side could massively improve his chances of first team football.
