Millwall were made to pay for missed opportunities as they extended their winless Championship run to four matches following a 1-1 draw against Neil Harris' Cardiff City on Saturday.

Gary Rowett's side looked on course to get one over their former manager when Matt Smith headed home Shaun Williams' 35th-minute delivery for his first league goal of the campaign.

However, Kieffer Moore's late strike ensured a share of the spoils for the Bluebirds, who themselves have now managed just one victory in their previous seven league outings.

And whilst the Lions boss would have been frustrated after his sides home woes continued, there was more bad news for Rowett, who confirmed injuries to both Mahlon Romeo and Connor Mahoney, two players that would have started against Cardiff.

Rowett told NewsatDen: "Mahlon got trod on the foot and was ruled out for today's game.

"Connor Mahoney pulled his quad yesterday taking a corner, really innocuous but he went down as if it was pretty serious. He would have started today."

Following the news of another setback for Billy Mitchell on Friday, Millwall's injury problems may yet get even worse after Mason Bennett was replaced in the 57th minute.

The Verdict

You have to feel for Rowett right now, it's one thing after another.

With Kenneth Zohore and Mitchell already sidelined, depending on the extent of both Mahoney and Romeo, some youngsters might be needed on the bench to fill up the numbers given the new nine-sub rule.

But whilst Millwall can cope without Mahoney, Rowett will be desperately hoping that Romeo's problem is minor as he's the only recognised right-back at club - which is why Ryan Leonard was forced to start there against Cardiff yesterday.
