Millwall manager Gary Rowett has expressed his delight in Jed Wallace’ start to the new season.
The midfielder is constantly a pivotal part of the Lions’ attacking play and he’s been instrumental once again in the early days of the new campaign.
Wallace has already netted twice in four league games, and he’s showing signs that he can hit the dizzy heights of last season where he was in double figures for both goals and assists.
This saw the Millwall star man nominated for the Sky Bet Championship player of the month award, which eventually went to Blackburn Rovers midfielder Bradley Johnson.
Millwall will be hoping to add a few players before the transfer window comes to a close, and Rowett has expressed that he needs more players who can get the sort of numbers Wallace does in front of goal.
Speaking to London News Online, Rowett said: “He has scored and set up goals in bunches and streaks, a lot of forward players are like that.
“If he gets into double figures again, we need to get more players into double figures who play in those areas. I’ve been pleased with his start.”

Wallace has been a very good player for Millwall and he’s quickly become one of the best players in the divisions.
Rowett knows that Wallace is crucial to any top six bid, and if Millwall can get someone in who can produce similar numbers, then there’s no reason why they can’t be competing at the right end of the league table once more.
The Lions will now hope that no club comes in for the star man in the coming week and give them a dilemma or situation where they have to think about selling.
