Millwall could welcome Sheyi Ojo back into the side this weekend against Nottingham Forest, with the on loan Liverpool winger missing the last three matches.

The 24-year-old, who has joined The Lions in what is his seventh temporary spell away from Anfield, has played just one championship game since his arrival in late August.

Ojo spent last season with Cardiff City, scoring five goals and chipping in with seven assists, but he saw his game time decrease as the season wore on.

The young winger also played and impressed at every age group for England at youth level, scoring six times in total.

Speaking to News at Den about the injury problems he has to contend with Gary Rowett said: “I think Maikel will be okay. Mason will be a doubt, Jed will be a doubt. Sheyi might be back, we’ll assess his fitness.

“I think over the next couple of games we’re going to look in a better position squad-wise. Up until then we just have to work incredibly hard to try and get results.”

The verdict

Ojo has proven to be extremely influential in the Championship, meaning that having him fully fit is an exciting prospect for Millwall.

The Lions have suffered a high number of injuries in recent weeks, but it seems that they are closing in on welcoming back a fair few faces to The Den.

Millwall have not made the start that they would have wanted to this new Championship campaign, picking up eight points from their opening eight games. However, the return of a few key individuals could prove pivotal.
