Stoke City boss Gary Rowett has give a mixed injury update on his players ahead of the weekend's game against Bristol City.

Speaking to the club's media, he revealed the Potters will be without summer signing Sam Clucas once again, although he is now back in full training with the group, so a return will be soon.

As well as that, there was good news on Peter Etebo who has missed both games since the international break, although Rowett does have concerns on a few players he didn't name.

"Sam Clucas trained today and looked good. The weekend will probably come too soon for him though. Peter Etebo trained also which is a positive. One or two who have knocks didn't train today."

The manager will be desperate for a fully-fit squad as they head to Ashton Gate, with the Staffordshire side seriously underperforming this season.

Stoke have won just four of their 14 Championship games this season and are languishing in 17th position, sitting seven points behind the play-off places.

Although, they will head into the game with some confidence after picking up a late point against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last time out.

The Verdict

This is good news for Stoke, particularly regarding Clucas, who has the potential to add something different to this team.

As well as that, Etebo had been featuring regularly and would bring some energy to the midfield.

Ultimately, given the position that Stoke are in, they need everyone fit and Rowett will look forward to welcoming these players back into the group.
