Gary Rowett has revealed that Deadline Day signing Kenneth Zohore is available for their Championship meeting with Luton Town on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old joined late on Friday from West Brom on loan until January, but hasn't made a single appearance for the Baggies this term and is understandably short of match fitness.

Zohore featured just twice for West Brom post-lockdown - with his most recent outing coming in their defeat at Brentford back in June, almost four months ago.

However, that was mainly due to a calf injury which forced him to miss the remainder of the campaign and therefore the Baggies' promotion back to the Premier League on the final day of the season.

Zohore appeared just 20 times in total under Slaven Bilic and hasn't started a match in the whole of 2020. But Rowett hasn't ruled the Dane out of tomorrow's game, and hinted he that he could possibly feature against the Hatters.

"Ken is available, it’s just whether we think he is fit enough to go and do himself justice," Rowett told South London Press. "I don’t think he’s quite ready to start games and we’ve got no real need to chuck him in from the start.

“It is quite difficult when a player hasn’t played for a while, teams wrap players in cotton wool a little bit if they expect them to be heading out. He won’t have done that much for a week or two.

“With the fixture schedule that is the challenge to get players fit – you’ve probably got to do it in games because you have only got one or two days in before you play again.”

The Verdict

Millwall have made a strong start to the campaign, but they remain short of goals. Jed Wallace and Ryan Leonard did the business at Wycombe on Saturday, but the Lions' four strikers have a combined total of just one league goal this term.

With Troy Parrott out injured and both Tom Bradshaw and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson struggling, the addition of Zohore is much-needed for Rowett, who'll want him fit and firing as soon as possible.

Matt Smith's contribution at the weekend should see him keep his place tomorrow, but having Zohore on the bench would be a boost.
