The play-off places are looking set to be hotly contested once again in the Championship as Derby County are beginning to come up on the rails in the second tier.

The top six spots will not be sorted out until right at the end of the campaign but the Rams are looking set to really challenge for them with them blowing away the cobwebs in recent weeks.

Indeed, they are on a good run of wins and their three points at Norwich was hugely impressive to leave them seventh in the division.

They could, then, move into the top six come the end of the mid-week fixtures that kick off tomorrow if they can beat a Leeds United side that is continuing to ail.

The men from Elland Road stuttered once more against Sheffield United at the weekend and if the Rams can start fast, they can use the growing concern amongst the Whites fans to their advantage.

To do that, though, we think Gary Rowett must start the £675k-rated Sam Winnall to give the Rams the most attacking threat possible.

Winnall has shown in glimpses what he can do this season for the men from Pride Park and his goal against Norwich that handed the Rams the win should be enough to ensure he starts tomorrow.

With a good run and the right system, Winnall can score a hat-full and we think he must be given the chance to continue that run against a wobbling Whites team.
