Ex-Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett, who was sacked by the Blues back in December, has said he’d be willing to make a return to the club if the offer came up, in an interview with the Birmingham Mail.
The 42-year-old departed St. Andrew’s just under three months ago despite his side knocking on the door of the play-offs.
Rowett has since been linked with a number of jobs, including Nottingham Forest and Premier League outfit Hull City.
Talking on the matter, he said “The easy answer is – I’d certainly consider it” when asked about going back to Birmingham City.
Since the appointment of Italian manager Gianfranco Zola, they have picked up just two victories and both came in this month; home to Fulham and at bitter rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers last Friday.
They currently sit 13th in the Sky Bet Championship table, twelve points above the drop but fifteen adrift of the top-six.
Did he deserve to be sacked in the first place, Birmingham City fans? Would you get rid of Zola now if it meant Gary Rowett returning? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
