Gary Rowett issues verdict on Sheffield United ahead of tomorrow’s clash

Stoke City manager Gary Rowett has insisted that his team are “more than capable of getting a result” against Sheffield United on Tuesday night.

The Potters travel to Bramall Lane on the back of their first defeat in three league games, after a disappointing 1-0 home loss to Rowett’s former employers Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon.

It has been a case of “home sweet home” for the Blades this season, having lost just once at Bramall Lane this season and winning four times.

But Rowett, despite succumbing to his fifth defeat of the season at the weekend, has remained positive ahead of side’s chances on Tuesday night.

“I’ve known Chris Wilder for a long time and I think he has done a really good job at Sheffield United – they play a really unique style of play and they have been up and around the top for the last 12 months”, Rowett said.

“We are more than capable of getting a result on Tuesday though”, he added.

The Blades sit second in the Championship table, whilst Stoke languish in 17th place in the standings after thirteen games.

The Verdict

It’s good to see Rowett remain positive about his side’s prospects – it is bound to be a tough test for Stoke but their squad is more than capable of blunting the Blades on Tuesday night.
