Stoke City manager Gary Rowett is looking to further his summer spending spree with a swoop on former club Derby County.

Rowett is looking to make a move on his former club, and according to Alan Nixon, is keen on signing Tom Lawrence from the Rams.

Lawrence was in impressive form for the Midlanders last season as the Welsh international appeared to find his feet following a big money move, and it would appear Rowett has not forgotten about one his star men, as he looks to make a move to bring him to new club Stoke.

The former Rams manager is leading an expensive charge in the transfer market this summer as he seeks to position his new club to make an immediate return to the Premier League.

Following the sale of star man Xherdan Shaqiri, the Potters are looking to ensure they have adequate replacements in place, and despite signing the likes of Tom Ince and Benik Afobe already, Welsh international Lawrence is now also wanted by Rowett.

Lawrence moved to the the Rams in a big money move from Leicester City after impressing during a loan spell with Ipswich Town. He was a more or less ever present last season under Rowett, and has 13 caps for his country already.
