Millwall continued their impressive away form by holding Norwich City to a goalless draw at Carrow Road on Tuesday.

The stalemate means that Gary Rowett's men have collected 10 points from five matches on their travels - the joint-best away record in the Championship with Preston, Bristol City, Reading and the Canaries themselves.

It's taken Millwall just five games to reach double figures on the road, which is six fewer than last term, and 11 less than the 2018-19 campaign - showing the dramatic improvements since Rowett replaced Neil Harris last October.

Millwall failed to register a single attempt on target throughout the 90 minutes in East Anglia, probably not helped by the absence of striker Tom Bradshaw.

The Lions frontman was surprisingly left out of the 18-man squad, however, Rowett explained his reasons for Bradshaw's omission, admitting it was purely tactical and the Welshman isn't injured.

"It was just a decision I made," Rowett told South London Press. "The team was the team I wanted to start with and I knew which way I was going to go with the substitutions.

"I felt we needed more coverage from a defensive aspect than we did necessarily with attacking options. I knew it would be that type of game, not one to chuck lots of attacking options on. That was the thinking behind it."

The Verdict

Despite Bradshaw having scored just once in the Championship since New Year's Day, his absence here came as an unexpected one.

He'd started Saturday's defeat to Huddersfield and was then completely axed from the travelling squad for the trip to Carrow Road.

Millwall were already without injured duo Kenneth Zohore and Troy Parrott, so leaving out Bradshaw meant Matt Smith was the only striker on the bench - stark contrast to recent weeks when Rowett has opted for as many as three amongst the substitutes.
