Gary O’Neil joins QPR on free transfer

Sky Bet Championship side Queens Park Rangers have signed former West Ham United midfielder Gary O’Neil on a free transfer.
The 30-year old has signed a one-year deal with side from Loftus Road having left West Ham this summer after failing to agree a new deal. O’Neil had been linked with a move back to one of his former clubs Middlesbrough but the midfielder has decided to sign for Harry Redknapp who he played under at Portsmouth.
O’Neil started his career as a trainee at Portsmouth and was a part of Redknapp’s Pompy side that won the then First Division (now Championship) in the 2002/03 season.
The midfielder have an injury-plagued two years with West Ham in which he made 56 appearances scoring 3 goals.
