Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer heaped praise on his defence, after he saw his side defeat Lancashire rivals Blackpool 2-1.
Bowyer had to reshape his back line due to an injury sustained by centre-back Matt Kilgallon, with Jason Lowe moving to right-back and loanee Alex Baptiste in the centre. The manager was full of praise for the pair after the game, as he spoke in his post-match interview.
“I thought the back four were outstanding, Jason Lowe in particular, he was magnificent, as was Alex Baptiste coming back here.
“That’s a back four that was thrown together in the second half at Cardiff, they’ve done ever so well.
“Jason Lowe will play anywhere for Blackburn Rovers. He’s come through the Academy, he’s been with us for years and years. He loves the club, he’ll do anything for us.”
Alex Baptiste, who is currently on-loan from fierce rivals Bolton Wanderers, spent five years with the Seasiders, including a season in the Premier League.
“I thought Alex was excellent. He plied his trade here at Blackpool as a centre half for a long time, and played in the Premier League there as well.
“We knew that when we were bringing him to the club that he could play there but we didn’t think it would be so soon.
“He’s done ever so well, I’m delighted for him because he’s coming back to his old club.”
Blackburn Rovers next play on Tuesday night, as they face a 230 mile trip to recently relegated Norwich City.
