We're approaching the time of year where we hazardously guess at where Leeds United will end up this season...

The club appeared to have made a big step forward in appointing Garry Monk as manager, replacing Steve Evans in charge. This is a man tipped to be a future England manager, so his appointment is definitely a statement of intent.

There is, however, an under layer of discontent soon to bubble over at the club, with questions continuously asked of owner Massimo Cellino's intentions and commitment to the club, but the rumours are flying around which would suggest investment from the Italian.

But one of the the club's pride and joy's is their illustrious academy which continues to churn out exciting prospects for the future, and makes up a major proportion of Leeds' first team.

The club also enjoys signing youngsters for the first team, so it'll be a key for Garry Monk to utilise young players at Leeds.....

It wouldn't be a list about Leeds United youngsters without Lewis Cook on the list.

The 19-year-old continues to sparkle in the centre of the park for the Whites, and looks to be a future England midfielder.

He's a coveted asset for clubs across the country of varying statures, with Newcastle United the latest to join the hunt ahead of their return to the Championship under Rafa Benitez.

A large proportion of Leeds fans are looking to Monk to build a team around Lewis Cook ahead of next season in order to squeeze the best of him.

Leeds will be hoping that Garry Monk can mould the 21-year-old into an absolute star ahead of next year. He's more of an attacking midfielder, with a knack for scoring an absolute belter.

He's showing signs of absolute class, the only issue is that he can't keep it up on a consistent basis, struggling to continuously put together a string of form of the highest calibre.

He's another one who's attracting a lot interest, not quite on the same level as Lewis Cook, and Monk may face a battle to keep him this summer.

Jordan Botaka signed for Leeds last summer and is one of very few wingers at the club, although he had very few opportunities at Elland Road this season.

He has a creative aspect to his game, making six assists in Holland before joining the club, and has blistering pace, an enormous attribute for any winger.

At 22 he's definitely got potential, and will be one of many players Leeds players that fans will hope Gary Monk can bring to life.
