After a jittery start to his Leeds United career, things are looking up for Garry Monk and his men after a recent upturn in form which has seen them propel themselves up the Sky Bet Championship table.

The Whites currently find themselves sitting in 11th place after picking up 5 wins from the opening 11 league games.

Going out on loan can often be the making of players, loan moves give a player a platform to get first team football week in week out and enable them to grow as a player, so they are then in a position to challenge for a first team role upon their return.

January will be an important window for Garry Monk and his men, and the former Swansea boss will have to make some important decisions regarding his squad.

This article is going to take a look at TWO players who would potentially benefit from a spell away from Elland Road...

Kemar Roofe

One player Monk should consider loaning out in January is definitely Kemar Roofe, as he has struggled to find his feet in the Championship following his move from Oxford United.

Roofe has made just 5 starts since signing for the club and has failed to score in any of his appearances, either from the start or as a substitute.

This is in stark contrast to last season when Roofe was scoring for fun as Oxford marched to promotion from League Two.

Roofe made 48 appearances in all competitions last season and netted a remarkable 26 goals in the process.

At the age of 23, Roofe could very well still turn out to be a good investment as he has plenty of time to reach his full potential and in order to do that, he needs to be playing regular first team football.

Therefore, a spell in League One could potentially help he re-find his confidence and best form.

Lewie Coyle

Young full back Lewie Coyle is another that Monk should look to loan out in order to aid his development as a footballer.

20-year-old Coyle is rated extremely highly by all at Elland Road, and has already made close to 20 appearances for the first team however, if he is going to reach his full potential he needs to be playing regular first team football week in, week out and a loan spell may give him the best opportunity of doing that.

He has however made 4 appearances this season for the Leeds United senior team although, 3 of those appearances came in the various cup competitions.

First team chances look limited in the league meaning that a loan spell to League One could be his best opportunity of regular first team football.
