Leeds United have surprised most this season, with manager Garry Monk guiding them to the Play-Offs as we move towards the halfway point in the season.

Monk only arrived at Elland Road in the summer, but he has made an immediate impact for Leeds, putting his own stamp on the team and implementing his own style of play.

There is no doubt that come January, the former Swansea boss will be looking to add to his squad ahead of the end of season run in.

Monk will most likely look to add promotion experience to a squad that is very inexperienced when challenging for promotion.

Despite Leeds having a great opening 16 games, there is still room for improvement in their squad. As well as adding to the squad experience, there is also players Monk should look to replace, as they don't have the required quality.

Building a squad capable of dealing with the proverbial business end of the campaign is simply crucial, both in terms of arrivals and departures.

Here, we will look at TWO players who Garry Monk should replace in January...

Rob Green

Green is a former England international and he has improved since the beginning of the season, but it still seems like he has an error in him and that could be costly for Leeds.

If he makes an error it could have a huge effect on Leeds' promotion bid. As the table is taking shape, there becomes more pressure on Green to keep clean sheets and keep Leeds in the top six.

Such pressure often gets to him and leads to him making mistakes, which will be costly to Leeds.

Monk should look to sign a new goalkeeper to replace Green.

Souleymane Doukara doukarald

Doukara has been at Elland Road for over two years now, but he has failed to stake his claim to be Leeds' number one striker, seemingly struggling to adapt to English football.

Doukara started the last game on the wing but he isn't always overly effective in that position.

His strongest position is upfront but he struggles to score goals, which is worrying for a striker.

As the season grows older, the emphasis will be on the strikers to score goals and Chris Wood can't do everything on his own.

Monk will need someone else to step up to the plate when Wood doesn't score.
