Garry Monk is still seeking his first win as Birmingham boss after a tough start in his new role.

In fairness to the former Leeds manager, he has come up against Middlesbrough and Cardiff, two of the better teams in the division.

However, he will still be disappointed not to have got at least a point on the board ahead of this weekend’s crucial game against Hull at St. Andrew’s.

The Tigers have recorded back-to-back wins to move nine points clear of Blues ahead of the fixture.

Fortunately for Monk’s men, Barnsley haven’t. The West Midlands side know a victory on Saturday could take them level on points with the Tykes who are currently one place ahead of the relegation zone.

Either way, it’s a massive game for Birmingham and the manager will surely look to make changes following successive defeats.

Here we look at two players who could be dropped for the clash…

The on-loan Arsenal man has had a tough time of it since moving to Blues with injuries seriously restricting him.

Yet, he has come into the team in the last month or so and played the full 90 minutes against Boro and kept his place against Cardiff.

However, a poor first-half against the Welsh side saw centre-back Marc Roberts replace him at full-back which says it all.

Therefore, a start is unlikely tomorrow and whether it’s bringing Cohen Bramall in to shift Maxime Colin to his natural position or giving Roberts another go, Jenkinson shouldn’t start.

The big striker has been given two starts under Monk but hasn’t really delivered.

There’s no doubt that the former Burnley man has his uses, with his physicality and aerial prowess, however Sam Gallagher provides more mobility which is needed from the start.

Blues have pace and quality in the attacking third, with the likes of Jota, Che Adams, Jacques Maghoma and Jeremie Boga to choose from and they would benefit from Gallagher playing the lone role.

Then, Monk can use Jutkiewicz as a plan B if needed late on.
