It's been a frustrating few weeks for Sheffield Wednesday, with the Owls struggling for a positive run of results in the Championship this term.

Garry Monk's side remain rooted to the bottom of the second-tier standings after their opening eight matches of this year's campaign, and are nine points adrift of safety, which will be a slight concern for the club's supporters.

They were beaten 3-0 by Rotherham United in their last match in midweek, and will be looking to get back to winning ways at the earliest of opportunities.

The Owls take on fellow relegation rivals Wycombe Wanderers this weekend, in what could be a tough test for Monk's side.

Wycombe will head into the game full of confidence, after picking up their first point of the 2020/21 season in a 1-1 draw with promotion-chasing Watford in midweek.

Speaking in a pre-match press conference, Monk issued a positive injury update on a key duo heading into the match against Wycombe on Saturday.

"Izzy Brown has been training all week, as has Dom Iorfa, so we will look at them in training today and hopefully they will be in contention for the weekend."

Brown hasn't been in the squad since their defeat to Bristol City in late September, which is the same case for Iorfa, who was hugely impressive for Sheffield Wednesday last season.

The Verdict:

It'll be a boost to have them back available for selection.

Brown is a player that can make things happen going forward, and his creative ability could have a positive impact for the likes of Jack Marriott, who needs the service to score goals.

Iorfa's return has come at the ideal time, with Tom Lees suspended for the match against Wycombe this weekend.

It's going to be a tough test for Garry Monk's side, and I really wouldn't be surprised if they were to lose against the Chairboys, who impressed me in their last match against Watford.
