Garry Monk has urged the Leeds United supporters to “crank up the noise” inside Elland Road, as the race for promotion gathers pace in the Sky Bet Championship, reports the club’s official website.
Leeds are flying in the Championship, currently sat fourth in the division, and challenging for a place in the Premier League, for the first time since 2004.
With just nine fixtures of the season remaining, pressure is beginning to build in the Championship, and Leeds start their run-in with a difficult clash against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
Elland Road is looking like having another attendance around 30,000 for the visit of Chris Hughton’s side on Saturday, and Monk spoke passionately about the club’s supporters, he said: “It’s time to crank up the noise, they (the fans) have been fantastic, they’ve created amazing atmospheres.
“It is great confidence for the players, it is also great confidence for the fans as well, but it is time to crank it up, and everyone be there together.
“It’s us against everyone else, we need that mentality in the team but also on the terraces.”

Monk’s side are looking to return to winning ways this weekend, following back-to-back draws against Fulham and QPR, but face a difficult task against Brighton, who are looking to secure a place in the automatic promotion places.
Leeds are without right-back Luke Ayling on Saturday, who begins a two-match suspension, after picking up his tenth caution of the season in last week’s 0-0 draw with QPR.
