Leeds United manager Garry Monk has stated he has confidence that if his side play to the best of their ability, they can beat anyone in the Sky Bet Championship, reports the club’s official Twitter account.

Monk’s side will have to play well this weekend, when they face Brighton and Hove Albion at Elland Road, in the Championship’s Saturday evening kick-off.

Both sides are challenging for promotion, with Chris Hughton’s Brighton currently second, level on points with Newcastle United at the top of the table, while Leeds are fourth and looking to secure their place in the Play-Offs.

Previewing the game, Monk praised Brighton, but was also adamant his side have what it takes to beat the Seagulls, he said: “We know though, that if we play at our best, we can beat anyone in this league.”

Monk’s side are looking for a return to winning ways, after back-to-back draws with Fulham and QPR halted their progression up the Championship table.

The Whites are currently five-points clear of seventh-placed Fulham, and with just nine fixtures of the season remaining, it should only take a handful of victories to confirm a place in the Play-Offs.
