Leeds United winger Hadi Sacko is ready to join Canary Islands-based side UD Las Palmas on loan, according to Spanish outlet Canarias7.

Las Palmas play in the second tier of the Spanish league and are set to take the 24-year old away from Elland Road after two miserable seasons.

Sacko appeared 47 times in all competitions for the Whites, scoring just three times and his future has been in doubt ever since he failed to secure a squad number for the upcoming campaign.

The French-born Malian represented Les Bleus through to U20 level, but then switched to his parent's native country for senior international football, but he's failed to impress at Elland Road after arriving from Sporting Lisbon.

Only five of his 47 matches have come as a permanent Leeds player, with his first season in Yorkshire being a loan deal, made permanent in the summer of 2017.

After starting out at Bordeaux he moved to Portugal following a loan spell at Le Harve. His Sporting contract had a release clause in it thought to be in the region of 60 million Euro.

The Verdict

It simply hasn't worked for Sacko at Leeds, he represents the old guard, the two seasons of failure and transition which have taken them from the Massimo Cellino era to the current Andrea Radrizzani chapter.

He's by no means a bad player, but his fall from grace has been spectacular. From a 60m Euro buy out and France's U20 side, to barely featuring for Mali and being cast adrift in the English second tier.

He now needs to prove to Marcelo Bielsa what he can do as his Leeds deal still has two years left and he could well have a role to play if he rediscovers his form. If not, he will at least increase in value.
